These Time Travel (Heartbeat) paintings exist as records of time – little histories. A specific amount of time is spent sewing within the painted grids, and these efforts are remembered on the reverse of the painting in increments of heartbeats. They are objects that formally present the time, effort and life that went into their making; an aesthetic record of labor and activity.
